We’re excited to announce that nominations are open for the third annual .ORG
Impact Awards, honoring outstanding organizations
for their positive impact on the community – including mobilization, outreach,
and fulfillment of their mission.
“At a pivotal time in our global communities, mission-driven organizations are
helping, healing, and inspiring us,” says Jon Nevett, President and CEO of
Public Interest Registry, the people behind the .ORG domain. “The .ORG Impact
Awards recognize the remarkable organizations and individuals that make the
world a better place.”
The 2021 nominees will be recognized for their work in a wide range of important
areas, from promoting health and healing during the pandemic to addressing
global climate change and fighting hunger and poverty.
Category winners will receive a donation of $10,000 USD, and the .ORG of the
Year will be awarded $35,000 USD. Submissions are open through July 30.

.ORG Impact Award winners also have the opportunity to raise valuable
awareness for their organizations – as well as their causes and missions.
Just ask Google Domains .ORG registrant and 2020 award winner Change Labs, which
works to increase the number of Native American-owned small businesses
operating in tribal communities.
“Change Labs is a young organization, and it was validating to be recognized for
our impact and achievements thus far,” says Executive Director Heather Fleming.
“I now start almost every intro sentence with ‘Change Labs is an award-winning
Navajo nonprofit …’ and that’s huge!”
Fleming went on to say that the funding would help further the organization’s
mission, and that being in the company of distinguished fellow nominees and
winning was a morale boost for the entire organization. The positive press
generated by the award was beneficial as well.
“There are many stories out there about the struggles of Native people,” says
Fleming. “So to have a Navajo organization be recognized for its achievements is
a big step in the direction towards shifting the narrative to what Native people
are, and what we’ll do to address our own social challenges.”
